Together We Can Make A Difference

Every day over 10,000 healthy cats and dogs are killed in animal shelters across the United States simply because not enough homes can be found for them. Please help us to change this horrific statistic.

Vancouver USA Marathon Fundraiser

On Sunday, June 16, 2013, April Mixon will once again run the Vancouver USA marathon to raise funds for the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation. For the second successive year she is supporting our mission to save homeless pets and end animal cruelty

Your Donation

100% of your donation will go towards funding adoption, rescue and transport programs focused on saving lives. It will also benefit spay/neuter, education and training policies that help reduce the number of unwanted litters abandonded to shelters and subsequent euthanization. The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Donations are tax deductible to the extent permissible under applicable laws.

April Mixon

"I have three adopted mutts, Lucky, Tuxedo and Grace, and one adopted cat, Kelvin," April explains. "My hope is to inspire everyone to help in whatever way they can, to stop animal cruelty and save shelter animals. Last year I raised $1023 for the Heigl Foundation. Hopefully my supporters will help me to beat that total this year!"

2013 will be April's second full outing over the full 26 miles 385 yards when she once again tackles the Vancouver USA marathon. Please support her efforts to  reach her fundraising target. April was inspired to support the Heigl Foundation after renting the movie Life As We Know It and watching the Public Service Announcement for the Compasson Revolution.

About The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation

The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation was founded in 2008, by Nancy and Katherine Heigl. The Heigl's desire to end cruelty and abuse inspired them to create an organization dedicated to animal welfare that would celebrate the compassion, kindness and memory of a beloved son and brother. On September 23rd 1986, Jason was killed in a tragic car accident. He was 15 years old. Throughout his brief lifetime Jason loved all animals, especially dogs, cats and monkeys and he lived his life extending compassion and kindness to all creatures great and small. The Foundation is his legacy.

The goal of the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation is to eliminate the needless suffering inflicted on animals by human cruelty, indifference and ignorance. To find out more about our work, programs and the animals we help please visit our web site at jasonheiglfoundation.org
